Newton's close proximity to Boston coupled with its unparalleled access to public transportation makes Newton an ideal place to live from a transportation and accessibility standpoint. The MBTA's Green Line runs right through Newton on its A, B, C, and E branches. The MBTA Commuter Rail also makes three stops in Newton as part of its Framingham/Worcester Line (Auburndale, Newtonville, and West Newton). Multiple bus routes service the area and connect residents with the various subway stations and other major points of interest. Newton is also an easy drive to both Routes 95 and 90, so the drive both in and out of Boston is quite easy. State Routes 9 and 16 also traverse the town, making smooth rides from all angles of Newton's many square miles to a variety of landmarks simple.
